Dank der monatelangen Vorbereitungen entstanden in aufwendiger Handarbeit Hunderte von detailgetreuen Kostümen, Waffen und Rüstungen, die während der Dreharbeiten in den historischen Locations zum Einsatz kamen!

Die Karpaten, Anfang des 18. Jahrhunderts: Das Volk leidet unter der brutalen Herrschaft der polnischen Besatzer. Um zu überleben, überfallen die Dovbush-Brüder mit ihrer Bande im unwegsamen Hochgebirge Adelige und Reiche. Während sich Ivan nach Reichtum sehnt, möchte Oleksa nur eins: Gerechtigkeit für seine Landsleute. Durch seine spektakulären Raubzüge und seinen Kampf gegen die Obrigkeit löst Oleksa eine Rebellion aus, die die polnische Streitmacht verzweifelt niederzuschlagen versucht. Hunderte von Soldaten sind ihm auf den Fersen und es scheint nur eine Frage der Zeit zu sein, bis sie den Freiheitskämpfer erwischen, doch Oleksa hat einige Tricks im Ärmel ...

In order to bring the compelling story of the famous outlaw to life, the production team thoroughly studied the unique fighting techniques and the culture of the time in which the events of the film unfold, while more than 100 craftsmen worked intensely on the elaborate costumes, armaments and weapons!

The Carpathians, beginning of the 18th century: The brutal rule of the Polish nobility forces Hutsuls to flee to the mountains. Two brothers, Oleksa and Ivan Dovbush, find themselves to be outlaws. In search of revenge on the lords for the murder of Dovbush's parents, the brothers become bitter enemies. One yearns for money, the other for justice. On his quest for freedom, Oleksa starts a rebellion which the nobility desperately tries to crush. The Polish military is on his tails, and it seems to be only a matter of time until they catch Oleksa, but the Carpathian knight has a few tricks up his sleeve ...

Карпати. Початок 18 століття. Жорстоке правління польської шляхти змушує гуцулів тікати в гори. Двоє братів, Олекса та Іван Довбуші, опиняються поза законом і стають опришками.
У пошуках помсти панам за вбивство батьків Довбушів, брати стають ворогами один одному. Один прагне грошей, другий - справедливості.
Гуцули починають повстання, яке очолює Олекса. Шляхта робить усе можливе, аби знищити Довбуша. Але він їх перехитрив. І розрослася легенда про карпатського лицаря. Легенда, що надихає покоління тих, хто бореться за свободу рідної землі. Про силу і любов Олекси Довбуша, про зраду і кривду. Про те, як він жив і як обманув смерть.
